What is birth preparation & why does it matter?
It's true what they say: You can never be completely prepared to welcome a baby into your life. It is also true, however, that there are things that you can do, conversations that you can have and plans you can put in place to make those early days a little less jarring.
Birthing Preparation sessions will give you practical tools to prepare your body, life, and relationship for this monumental change. There are going to be hiccups and challenges, but by taking care of yourself and starting important conversations before you're in the trenches, it can all be a little less stressful.
Our bodies go through a lot during pregnancy and, unfortunately, our cultural narrative is "suck it up". But that narrative is changing. We will teach you about what is happening in your body and things you can be doing to strengthen, relax, and prepare your body for labor, delivery and beyond.
Early motherhood is overwhelming. You are recovering physically, you have a new human to take care of, and your hormones are all over the place. We will teach you simple things you can do during your pregnancy to take some of the burden off to allow you to rest, restore, and recover during your 4th trimester.
The responsibility of this new precious life will be shared with you and your partner. Exhaustion and overwhelm can make good communication nearly impossible. Starting these conversations now and getting on the same page will help ease the transition and perhaps prevent some of the stumbles.
